G’day, I’ve got a Ali’s dozer, it’s got HD11 stamped on the plate but it has a 4-71 Engine, did they ever do this or is it most likely a hd9? And is there’s much actual size difference between the hd9 and hd11?

Cheers Brad

Very little difference of a HD9 and early HD11. The big difference was using the Buda engine in the HD 11.  So no HD 11 left the factory with DD 471.

We don't know what they did down under, I believe there was a plant on Oz, that built AC machinery, but their machinery and ours were not always the same.  I know Oz (serial)numbers don't match up with our numbers...Wink

Serial # stamp on rear of rear end housing, right side near the top will tell you if its HD9 with HD11 cowling with ID tag, or HD11 repowered with the Jimmy. There are a few repowers in New Zealand.
