I always have the customer look at the bales to see what it is. Many of my bales are sun bleached on the outside as I keep baleing and pick up later. Rain sheds well on net wrapped bales and I make sure the centers are soft so that the bale can breathe. 4x4 bales will weigh 600 lbs. Most horse people like the 4x4 bales. I have 1 beef customer who buys 4x5. I always give the small bales that sometimes occur at the end of the field telling the customer that is their good neighbor discount. Yes you can bale too wet as my baler is a silage special and can get me in trouble if I am not paying attention. Large hay producer near me sells a kit applicator for preservative that he uses. It is not propionic acid as that eats bakers. I looked into it but couldn't justify the expense as I bale between 400 and 500 round bales a year.
