Thought I would post some pictures of a wooden plaque that was given to Harry Merritt in 1938 by Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Co. I purchased it from an auction. Mr . Merritt was the general manager of the Tractor Division from 1926 to 1941.

It was nice seeing you at the show also Mark. Ted- We were at the Hungry Hollow Show 5 miles north of Barron and west of Rice Lake, WI. Small show but has a lot going on. Steam tractors running the saw mill and threshing machines, blacksmith shop, model rail road, many hit and miss engines, swap meet, tractor pull, numerous restored cars and trucks,  restored barn and all makes of tractors on a mostly shady show grounds.

I’ve got one of those too - only the 2nd one I’ve seen. I was told that Merritt presented them to some key personnel, as sort of an award.

Randy -

This is a great find! I am the great grandson of Harry Merritt, my grandfather was his son John Merritt and his son, also John Merritt my father. Would you be willing to sell me this plaque?

Best -

David M Merritt

Hi David,  I would like to keep the plaque, but this is a keepsake that belongs in the Merritt family. That being said I would sell it to you. I will look up how much I paid for it, plus buyers premium, shipping I paid and send you a personal message on "The Forum". Also welcome to the Allis Chalmers Forum!
Good Day,  Randy
