I wonder if this hammer strap would fit any orange drawbars?

If you are up to adding some more holes in your drawbar it will work.

I don't want to add any more hole to my drawbar, it already has holes
from the factory where a hammer strap would bolt.

Here's the pic of that hammerstrap on the 175D that became the 170....it has extra holes in the drawbar, so maybe it isn't original AC.....tires and rims now belong to Chuck Luedtke (sp?) in WI, fender are for sale....

Those fenders look nice Eldon, keep them, hang them on the wall in the shed or one day you will be kicking yourself.

There is something weird with one of the fenders as it doesn't line up with the other...wouldn't notice it on the tractor, but it was obvious in my 4 tractor lineup. This fender was tilted forward. I posted this pic before with no reply...you can see the fender on the left the "dirt line" isn't parallel to the mouting holes....

A hammer strap is a clevis hitch. Notice the drawbar on Eldon's tractor or both of the D21s above. |

Nice pics of the hammer straps. Most AC 4W305,s have them on. My did not when I brought it but ordered from an old AC dealer. Its makes hitching to some on the bigger implements so you can hitch lower or higher. Or some not many have a single tongue. Kurzy |

Some implements have a swivel ball hitch ( like the 3 point draft arm) and this is connected between the drawbar and hammerstrap top part, but you need a good heavy washer for it to ride on or your drawbar will suffer.

You might consider doing some measuring and seeing if any of the 7000 series tractors have the same size drawbar. I realized too late that I needed a hammer strap for my 7045 to pull a Great Plains No-Till drill that has a hitch like Kurzy described. I couldnt find one when I advertised here looking for one, so I went with the heavy bolt with lock nut option (crude but effective) and got along fine. I was able to locate one now, and look forward to having it on the tractor for next planting season. Good luck!

4W305 strap will fit one the 7000's and 8000's. The 7045 needs it for the sprayer & the 8070 needs it for the planter.

"Typically, a hammer strap is mounted on a tractor drawbar, and a towed implement can be coupled to the drawbar with a drawbar or hammer strap pin which passes through the hammer strap and the drawbar. Preferably, such a hammer strap
should havea low profile in order to accommodate power-take-off (PTO)
operated equipment using the drawbar while operating over uneven
terrain. A hammer strap
which extends too high may contact the PTO. The drawbar pin should
remain vertically fixed despitevertical movement of the implement and
drawbar. The drawbar pin also must resist rotational movement so as not
to cause excessive wear to the drawbar and/or hammer strap.
The drawbar pin must be secured in it's working position. Finally, for
customer convenience it would be desirable to provide a handle for the
drawbar pin."
Ah, so it isn't that leather shoelace strung through the end of my EastWing rock pick. |

I think you will want for the 7000 and 8000 series a 70240504 strap. We have one around, but I do use it occasionally with a field cultivator. Just going by memory on the number, if I find out differently I will edit.
