Went to Rantoul, Ill. for the Half Century of Progress show. If you didn't go, boy you missed a good one. It was fun seeing the faces of the green tractor guys, when they dropped there plows into the hard gumbo and there tractors almost stalled and they had to raise there plows to move. Some of the other ones had trouble to.
Lots and lots of displays, interesting modifications of tractors and "the carts" to get around in, they were every where, thousands and thousands.
Neat 8550 with a 32' disc ( I guess). All kinds of people demonstrating there pickers, combines and plowing.

Sorry I didn't get to meet many.  Talked to Randy Freshour (sp?) a little bit when I brought my tractor and disc in.  Wasn't there at noon either day for a Forum get together as I was out in the field discing.
Harold, you're right about all the golf carts, gators, etc.  I've never seen that many before in one place... ever.
Hope to meet more in the future.  The show will be back in two years.

The 2 cyl WC was a fabricated piece. I think they used an engine from a power unit (hyd) and shortened the hood and frame. Was a neat idea. Maybe Randy or someone got a picture of it and will post.

I heard from the golf cart rental folks that they brought in 500 carts.
Also they had a large number of scooters there.

I heard everything from 1000-30000 on the private golf cart count.

My best guess is total carts on Saturday was probably 3000, but I didn't try counting.  Wink
