Sorry , never have figured pics out . Pretty sure Dad bought this saw somewhere . He used to dabble in antiques . Also have a 6' two man saw that he had . Thanks !

I have seen those and I still have one of Dad's two-man crosscut saws but I am not sure of the brand. We used one on the FFA forestry team many years ago. If you want to email or text me some pictures I will see if I can put them on here for you.

Lehmans Hardware www.lehmans.com still has the one and two-man saws listed but they are pricey.

The last Disston I saw, was around 250CC, was single-man op, but had the second-man handle feature.  They have quite a storied history, and while they do not have the performance, ergonomics, safety, and efficiency of TODAY's saws, they certainly ruled the roost when they were new.  Imagine the cutting power if you put a pair of 880 Magnum cylinders on a common crankshaft, and used that to sling an 8-foot bar...  The sound and the fury...
Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.

I had to go and check out my ole meat/butcher's saw.  It also has Disston stamped on the frame.

Fortunately I was able to buy a replacement blade and with a little work with the cut off wheel and drill press, it works like a new one.  Wink

At home we had one similar...maybe not quite that long and also had a handle on other end for 2nd person... also had the longer 2 person style... ... ... and we had a hay bale saw that was about 3-4 feet long...

Hard to say from the pic, can't see how the teeth are filed. Crosscut saws are filed at a 45 degree angle, and every other tooth points a different way.  Generally set a little wider than a rip or pit saw, which is filed at nearer to 90 degrees, and each tooth is set just a little wider than the one in front of it. Pit or rip saws teeth look like a wave on the ocean, when viewed from the end, down the line of teeth. Pit saws also have deeper teeth than a crosscut, sometimes an inch and a half deep gullet. Yours looks like a crosscut, or a really worn down pit saw.( sometimes thrifty sawyers would convert worn pit saws to crosscuts)
