I have had my share of problems with fuel getting old, or corrosion problems in fuel tanks from sitting too long. I found a product that the Military uses in their fuel tanks, and got one for each of my tanks. It is called WaterWick, and the best place I found to buy it is at supplylinedirect.com. It is a plastic tube on a tether that will absorb the water from the bottom of the fuel tank. Now I use Stabil Diesel formula, and Stabil Marine formula for gasoline and keep the tanks full. Anyone else have any experience using this type product?

Jim, Could you share a picture of that item? This past week, I have been winterizing fuels in a few diesels of mine - 706D forklift & K2 gleaner (both are AC 433 engines) & 715B backhoe (4.236 perkins). I have been completely filling them with new fuel, adding a 12 fluid ounce bottle of Iso-heet, & adding lubricant (howes or 2cycle oil - 2.5 oz). At least that is what I am trying this winter. Maybe someone else knows better? Otherwise, it seems that condensation will yield some water residue that must be drained out of the fuel tank & filters in the spring.
