So we fixed that. R60 gets the same treatment today.

But now the orange paint is too shiny in contrast to the grey, maybe you should paint the whole thing?

Nah, just strip the whole thing down, galvanize all the metal, and put N7 Series 4  decals on it! LOL

I have no idea how good the R62/72 combines are, but from looking at pics on Tractorhouse, they seem to be the last of the combines that were pretty similar to A-C Gleaners. The hysrostat handle, electromagnetic clutch switches, tattletale monitors, are all pretty similar to the L/M/N series Gleaners. That's pretty cool to me because personally I don't like having a bunch of controls on the hydrostat handle like the new ones have. I'd rather have all the switches on the console, except header height Big smile

We had a L3 years ago that had silver wheels and our long time mechanic grumbled about it every harvest. He's in the nursing home and I'm going to show him this picture!

They didn't quit using galvanize, it was just painted over or that is what I have heard. 98 is when they went to the new scheme when they move from independence to hesston

98 a lot of up grades took place. A larger cleaning shoe was the best idea to come along. Around that time the unloading auger had some needed changes as well. A new cab design and the reel pump drive was now on the base combine. When did the 1" x  1 -1/4" cage come along?

??? If MF has a red tractor to accompany their red combine and CAT has yellow tractors to assist their yellow combines, why doesn't Gleaner have silver tractors to run with their silver combines?

If AGCO had some spare Corp Silver in a spray gun, why not shoot a red tractor with it?
