Recently new here but reading info for awhile. Need help with a Gleaner K corn and soybean special. Can’t seem to find the model year. The serial number says KKS 18674. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Had a heck of a time finding the correct countershaft belts locally. Thanks , Ray

Your KKS 18674 is a 1974 Corn Soybean Special edition.
The 1974 gleaner K's serial numbers began at 17001. The 1975 gleaner K's serial number began at 19401. So your K was probably built nearer the end of 1974. "KS" in the serial number, means its a Corn Soybean Special. So it contains additional unique options for those crops as compared to standard options. Your local AGCO dealership may carry or can locate some parts. For belts, I use Sloans Express for my gleaner K2. Just call & give them your belt part number. I use my gleaner parts book to identify specific part numbers per each belt. Or, if you're good with computer/internet, you may use agcopartsbooks.com to view your machine's parts. Once their home page opens, click "quest user" to view books. When the next page opens, choose model(k) & brand(gleaner) for search. At the next page, click on the item that corresponds. For your Gleaner K, you would choose - EIII (eff sn 25001)/K series (prior sn 24001) combine Then it will display parts for your whole machine(478 pages total). For your belt part numbers, go to page 470 "Drives - drives K." Your counter shaft belt set is part number 71170283.

Thank you so much. I have the original parts and owners manual. The person at the nearest agco dealer told me her books they had didn’t go back to them, and kept saying are you sure it’s not a k2 ? Not helpful on the Gleaner. Wasn’t sure about belts so was Leary of ordering online and getting wrong belts. Thanks again ! Ray

Ray, You're welcome. Your dealership experience sounds familiar. My experience when dealing with any AGCO parts people is that they really appreciate it when I pitch them a gleaner, New Idea, MF, etc. part number. They enter my part number in their system, which will recognize it, even if its an old outdated number that's been updated. I then try to write any updated numbers next to old outdated ones in my book.
Please share a picture of your Gleaner K. If so, scale down picture to less than 100kb size before attempting to load it on this forum. Edited by AC7060IL - 21 Oct 2018 at 8:35am |

Don’t know how to post pics. They got me this iPad which took some figuring out how to use. I wanted to put up pics of our Allis Chalmers 1949 B, 1950 WD , 1953 WD45 , 1957 D17 and snap coupler implements. Also have some loader arm mounts and cylinders for loader from a WD-WD45 I will give to anyone who wants to come get them. Don’t want to see them go to a scrap yard. Would like to learn how to put up pics so I can post those. We live and farm in Randolph Ohio. Thanks again for all your help. Ray

Posting pictures on forum is a little tricky. For starters, try reading this older link about it.
