I've got my eye on a couple gleaner f combines but before I go try to make an offer I was curious as to what others opinions were on value. One is a early f that has 6 cyl diesel and gear drive. It's probably a parts machine but i like to revive these old machines. Also has no header. Any input would be appreciated.

If it's a machine in "parts" condition, I would start at scrap value.

Scrap is so dang low that I feel I might insult some people. But that's why I'm asking for advice because I'm not sure.

Trying to find a decent header (without the combine) would be the hardest part. It's hard to put a value on the combine when you do not know what it is going to need. What shape is it in now? Tires, belts, sheet metal missing/banged up, does the engine run good? Things like this can add up real quick.
If the diesel engine runs well, I would offer $1000 (that is the most valuable part of the machine). Are you planning to use the combine? |

I've got an F and F2 both diesel and hydro. I could use it running or not as I cut 50,000 pounds of clean fescue each year so parts are always nice to have on hand.

I don't know your region- stuff up here is a little more expensive. But, if it runs and moves, yet is a parts machine, I'd say $2000 tops out here- probably less.
If it's field ready, maybe $2500. There's not much demand for them out here....

Think I gave $800 for mine last year at a retirement auction. 1976 model, 292 eng. gear drive and came with 4 row black head. It's been a good machine so far.

About a month ago a F2 diesel hydro sold in west central Missouri for around $2,000 with 4 row 30 black head. No Platforms. 2 Fs parts machines under $100 each less motors.
