If it has a M after the serial its 7.25 if its a z its 8.00 and theres another 8.25 not sure what the letter is cant remember

if it ends with a Z I think that is the 8.25:1, if I remember right.

Gleaner E manuals list the M-code 7.25:1 engine but DanD has documented he has a late E with a factory original Z-code 8:1 engine.   Somewhere along the way Allis switched over to the Z-code engine.   EIII's also have the 8:1 Z-code engine.   V-code is the 8.25:1 engine.   Mike
