I have a block painted in Gleaner gray that's stamped with the following number:

17-44970-M

Trying to figure out where this may have came from. It's a 4-cylinder, 226ci motor. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The only Gleaners to use the 226 motor were the models E and EIII.  HTH.  Don Jr.

It is a "G-226" (not a W-226) and can be no older than 1962 and probably no newer than 1965 build.
