The whole project came together well until today. I was driving it home from the plowing match which was about 5 miles away. The oil pressure is about 15 psi lower than it was a week ago. at idle, about 5psi and 10 to 15 revved up a bit. I am wondering if there is a leak in the motor in that tube that routes the oil though the full flow filter, relive valve stuck open, or such. It still runs nice an smooth as it did before. Anyone ever had this happen? I think there is a relief valve on the side of the engine like the old B series and on the oil pump also IIRC. Appreciate any thoughts.

Anyone seen this before? I am wondering if the relief valve is stuck open to far. Seems like the one on the inside is set at 80 psi and is just for surges of cold oil pressure which could blow the filter gasket per the book. I hope to look into adjusting the one on the lower left front and see what it does in a day or two.

Thinking about it more, and I think that will be my first approach. It does seem to show more thread past the nut than my 40 with the Buda B230, by a good margin. I sure hope it is that simple to solve.
Thanks very much for the input. It runs so nice, it will be great to get the oil pressure issue resolved.

Yesterday, I took the relief valve apart and cleaned it up and then put it all back together. A couple of tries at setting it and now I have 15 psi at idle and 30 revved up warm. Could not be happier! Now on to work on the new to me Cockshutt 570 gas with the GO 298 Hercules... Original owner bought it new in Sask and is about 90 years old now. I bought it through a trucker who brought it east. Very nice original condition. Sorry, no Allis connection on this one!

Thanks Don. I hope you are doing well. It has your manifold on it. Works well and is identical to the Cocskhutt one. It does sit a little lower on the Allis engine as the mount point on the head is lower due to the combustion chamber being in the piston on the Allis vs the original in the head. Little differences from changes they made along the way. Runs great all in all though.
Have a good one!
Neil
