Gilbert Vust's memorial service was held on September 9th with a tremendous assembly of family,  friends, and associates from throughout his community.
The many kind words about Gilbert, his A-C knowledge, and the condolences expressed here on the forum were shared with family members.
I especially appreciated the condolences expressed for him, and those who included me.  His passing is a great loss for all of us.   We all have many memories to carry us through.
His A-C knowledge, his humor, and the example he set with his life will not be forgotten.

Gilbert will certainly be missed and his passing will leave a large void.

There is a huge void in the AC community now but we have many great memories of Gilbert.

Thanks for posting Nan.

Did you get the email I sent?

Thanks again
Jim

Jim,
I had not been back on the Allis Forum until tonight, so not sure I had an e-mail from you.
The tributes to Gil have been so great and am sure he would be humbled by them.
I am slowly recuperating from his passing and know it will take time; lots of it.

Upper Midwest news letter had a nice write up about Gilbert. Those who were at Hutch this year walked the ground He walked. I bought a WF from him years ago, and when folks stop by I show them the tractor and talk about the Canada roots it came from. It's not the tractor, it's the story that goes with it. He will be remembered.
Thanks for posting Nan.

Lon,
I don't have my magazine yet, but assume the article about Gilbert is the one I wrote up from his obit and information I knew from over the years.  There are so many stories so many of us can tell and, just like you and the WF, that is what makes the memories for us all.
We talked almost daily on the phone and I certainly miss picking up the phone, or picking it up to call him.  Beyond that, he always called me on Saturday night about 9 and I called him at 6 on Sunday evening.  A couple of weeks before his passing, he called me on Saturday morning.  When I asked him, "What's up?" he told me he was just calling to tell me he was going to call me that night.   Nan

Nan,

You were right to schedule a time to talk with Gilbert. I had a friend that was sick. Every Tuesday night I would call. At the end he would not answer but I left a message. Later his family said that was the best thing and he looked forward to the phone calls. As you know now that was the best thing for you and Gilbert.

Jim,

When the little one knows all the AC stuff you can remember then it is time to break out the story of "Why fire trucks are red". The trick is to tell it like Gilbert did.

Nan,

Sent you a PM.

Lon, I don't know if I can match Gilbert's enthusiasm.
