Is it possible to rebuild a transmission housing out of a 8070 FWA? The hole where the main shaft is wore pretty bad, my dads thinks it can be rebuilt cheap, I dont. Any opinions?

Im not familair with that case, but anything can be built up by welding and remachined, or bored oversize and sleeved back to original size.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

A $1,000 or so, if it can be redone.

If you have a flat surface to locate on, another surface to square off from and enough of the bore left to find the original centerline, you could probably get it done for that.

That estimate seems reasonable, now finding a good shop to do the work? Have you tried locating a good used housing? That is easier said then done I realize.GL.

We already put a used housing on the tractor, I think its a waist having the tihing sit around taking up space but hate seeing it go to china since they probably dont make it anymore.
