I installed the new rebuilt roosa in the XT today. She pumps. Everything is bled. Should I pull the injectors and clean them? I tried to get her running but I think she's got to be timed cause I just bolted the pump in the middle of the slots. This is the one which has set for 24 years.

Ya it has to be timed, did you pull the pump with the engine at the correct timing mark?

Just a thought, did you check the compression 1 of the 3 things to make her fire.

Sorry Captain but haven't been following the XT real close.  Any white smoke out of the stack?  If it is smoking white and it is in a non-heated area it may need some assistance in the form of a whif of starting fluid.  I have always found it to be cheaper than grinding on starters and batteries, others say differant.

OK guys I have the pump timed and the injectors being rebuilt/cleaned. They were nasty dirty and partially plugged. Their cracking pressure varied from 2600 to 3200. After they are rebuilt we shall check compression. I vacuumed out the injector holes and put a couple shots of Marvel into each cyl. Dana
