Hey all.  I'm new to the forum and happy I found it!  I purchased a HD6 (A or B I think) last year and will be doing some logging with it in a few weeks.  I know very little about the machine, so I figured I should change the fluids.  I managed to find all the filters and whatnot online, but I have a few questions:

1. Does the can that the oil filter cartridge sits in unscrew, or do I need to unbolt something first?  Oil filter part no. 4349986 or wix 51986
2. Is Delo400 ok to use, or do I need to get something else?
3. Do I have to take the belly pan off to drain the oil? (haven't gotten underneath yet)
4. Any tricks for the fuel filters, or is it just take the old ones off, fill with diesel, put new ones on?

The filter on my hd6 has 3/4"bolt on the top that drops the canister. The real problem was getting the cannister to drop enough to remove.
Belly pan has access door, 3/4" bolts (those AC engineers liked 3/4")
You are right about the fuel filters.

Thanks for the help, woodbutch.  I noticed everything seems to be 3/4.  If it's not, it's 5/8 or 1/2.  I kinda like being able to leave the metric stuff in the shop.

There should be a smaller (bleed) bolt in the bolt that holds/drops the fuel filter. This bleed bolt helps to bleed the air out of the filter.  It also helps to pre-fill them.

I pulled the plate off the belly pan and have access to the oil drain plug... problem is I'm not sure which one to pull.  One of them looks like it might be hydraulic, but I'm not sure.  Which one is the engine oil?

Heya Shooter, Behind engine oil drain is your engine clutch fluid drain plug if your tractor has oil engine clutch. Drop that oil as well and refill with two and a half gallons of ATF. Filter for engine clutch is under foot plates on clutch housing.

I eventually figured it out.  I just had to move a bunch of fir needles and leaves out of the way to follow the oil pan down to the right plug.  Still had my fingers crossed though.  Busted a bleed bolt off and had a neat little diesel geyser.  Local machine shop backed the bolt out and chased the threads, gave me new bolts for free.  Just told me to look him up when I needed hydraulic work done.  You don't see that too much these days!
