we just pulled the injection pump off of our 8550 and might have it rebuilt. Is there anything we should have them do to it? I've heard about lowering the rpm's but i wasn't sure about it.

what i did with mine was increase fuel flow and decrease rpm to 2300

You hit the nail on the head Bump up the fuel a tad and decrease rpms. U will have more power and U wont even notice the slight drop in rpms.. Just dont get to crazy with the fuel we have had alot of troubles with the drop boxes.

The engine (especially the valve train) will be a lot happier at a reduced RPM.  Have the injection shop look up the specs for the 4w-305 and have it set to that.
