My CA's sediment bowl is leaking at the shut-off valve.  Does anyone sell just that valve as a replacement?  Or is a complete sed. bowl assembly my best bet?

Sad to say, I bought one at TSC last summer and it leaks when shut off, but not when it is on.

I also tightened my packing nut but I can tell you that won't last long.  Is the packing replaceable?  If so where do you get it?  Mike

I have been unable to get a new one in the past few years that did not start leaking at the shut off stem within a few months with one exception. Early last summer I bought one at NAPA and put on my B. So far it is still holding after 10 months which is much better than I was doing.

The one on my 45 started leaking about 5 years ago. I just snug the packing up till it makes the valve turn a little stiff. I think I have tightened it 3 or 4 times in the last 5 years. I would think you could buy packing material somewhere but I don't know what the packing is made of.

Bought one several years ago from Tony at Tonys Tractors for my B. No leaks as of this past Friday. You can use leather for the packing if needed. My Dad kept several old boots around and used them for packing and gasket materiel.

Graphited packing string should be in the plumbing department of good hardware stores.

I wrapped teflon tape on the stem and then re-snugged the nut.

Thanks guys.  So I guess that's a 'No' to buying a new shut-off only.  I'll look into some of the options you mentioned.

RSponenberg, If you see a new one that is not an import, let us know!
We sell complete units for $21 I think.  I run them, and have maybe tightened the packing a time or two in the 6 or 7 years since I put it on.
