Which gearbox is preferred? My B has a Ross and it turns hard. Jack the front end up and you can turn the wheel with one finger, so I know it’s not in the king pins. I drove a different B and it was night and day different, so easy to steer. I didn’t pay attention to what box it had. Does one brand tend to steer easier than the other?
Thanks

i think the Gemer has 3 teeth inside compared to the Ross that has One tooth or "pin"...I have several tractors and everyone has the Ross.. I think it was way more common and probably cheaper...

Nothing wrong with the ROSS if it is built up right.  Normally the pin wears and you get excessive slop.. you can turn the steering wheel 30 degrees and no movement of the tires.. the PIN is worn out... I have never had one DRAG as you said.. Normally that is in the king pins / bushings / drag link area...
