I’ve got a 170 gas and the main jet threads on the bottom of the bowl are stripped out. Would anyone know if there is anywhere that you can just order the bowl from or if there are other models of tractors that the carbs would interchange I’ve found a whole new carburetor online for just under 600$ and I’m kinda exploring my options before biting the bullet on a new one.

The One-Seventy/170 Zenith carburetor is kind of a orphan model. The air inlet horn is larger in diameter than a D-17 Zenith. The upper body has the throttle shaft on the other side because the carb is turned around backwards compared to a D-17. The choke is backwards too. Do you have any threads left inside??? I wouldn't be afraid to take a new adjustable main jet (new threads) and chuck it in a small lathe and machine things back .100" to get it in deeper and adjust the needle accordingly. Probably use loctite too, figuring this is the last time it will ever be worked on.

If there is enough meat left, 2 options bigger dia main jet body, or machine the bowl out to accept a threaded rod with correct main jet threads inside of body. HTH Tracy

There aren’t any threads left inside I just recently got the tractor and it had a crappy jb weld job on the outside and it kinda worked for a little bit but the jb weld got soft and it fell out. I have no idea on how the previous owner messed it up. Thank you for the information and the suggestions. I’ll probably try to order a new one and see if I can get it snugged in there one way or another
