I am working on getting a 6 row 333 planter home with 74 row units. It seems to be in pretty good shape but they took the tongue off and set the frame on some boards in the storage shed - probably to save space in the corner of the shed. I picked up bolts for the tongue today so I can bolt that back on and pull it home.
Question: Did these planters not have any sort of pin or other way to lock the planter wheels into the transport position? I could very well be missing something, but it looks like I will have to chain the wheel arms maybe towards the front coulter mounting bar to keep them down and raise the planter frame high enough.

Depending on the style of hydraulic cylinder. You could put a stack of stops in it to hold it up. Or a piece of angle or channel cut to the right length over the cylinder rod.

I like the stack of stops idea. I think I have a box of them that I bought at an auction that should work or at least hold them fairly far extended. Not sure that I have any channel or angle handy that would fit but that is also a good idea.

I used to have a mechanical cylinder. It was like a ratchet binder that was sized as an exact replacement for a hydraulic cylinder.

If memory serves me right they had a hydraulic lock up you would just raise the planter and close a valve and it would hold itself up Yall forgive me if I’m wrong but it’s been several years since I’ve been around a 333

Yep,it had a gate valve inline at the front of planter but cyl stops would be better. A hose failure next to cyl would still let planter drop.
