Was using a disc mower on dads series 2 d15 with factory 3pt and had trouble with the with hydraulic remote not lowering so in the process of bringing up and down the hydraulics became quite jerky and the rock shaft broke on the right hand side when looking at the tractor from behind. It broke at the end right at the round part where the link connects to the arms of the 3 point hitch. Anyone have a good one for sale and experience welding one?
Second problem is the hydraulics. This tractor doesn’t have a transport valve and was working fine previously. Should I check the linkage under the gas or somewhere else first? Thanks! |

Did you break the end/yoke off the right hand LIFT ARM ?? I think that is kind of a common problem with those 3-points. Now, as far as the disc mower goes, I've never seen one small enough to even consider using it on a tractor that size. At least a D-17 or larger. 90% of the weight is all on the right side.

That’s the correct the yoke broke right off. Have you ever seen one welded back together that held?
I’ve used the disc mower on the this tractor in the past and usually just go easy in like low second gear and try to be really mindful when lifting the mower. I only mow 3-5 acres a year with it. However after this incident it won’t be going back on the d15…. |

I love the D15's. The 3 point hitch on them is too light for most tillage or lift work. The snap coupler is much tougher! Same goes for the D10-12 also. HTH Tracy

I've never had the pleasure of trying to weld one back together. If I did, the hitch would get pretty light use from then on.
