Checking for water in the engine oil today. It's been dripping out way before the oil does. Kept unscrewing drain plug until oil started pouring out
Glad I had a catch pan in place. Almost time for the annual oil change anyway. Thanks |

Loosened drain plug today without dumping all the engine oil. Saw only a few drops of oil, no water. Maybe I got lucky? I'll drain the water and add antifreeze soon. Thanks!!

With warm weather on the horizon, I'd for sure be leaving the doctored up water in it until next fall.

Some of the BARS LEAK is compatable with antifreeze.. You might drain half and refill with antifreeze to get a 50- 50 mixture... Or maybe just put 2-3 spoons full of sealer in with the NEW ANTIFREEZE as a DOUBLE CHECK for future problems..
Depending on how you "DRAIN"... you might still have 2-3 quarts of water / sealer in the engine block.... That might be enough for "on going" maintenance of the system... ? Edited by steve(ill) - 03 Apr 2025 at 6:04pm |

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

The stuff I used can't be mixed with antifreeze. I flushed the system several times before and after. I opened the radiator petcock and the one behind the carb.I'll pick up some antifreeze soon and keep an eye on it. Thanks!!

Update. Yesterday I backed out the engine oil drain plug until a few drops of oil came out. No water/coolant! Seems the Bars Leak worked! Thanks guys for the help. Hard to believe it's been a year ago.
