does the lift shaft housing have to come off to replace rear pto seal on a 200.If so is there any  thing unusal to look for?

Is this a 2spd PTO.  If so, it should be the same as a 7000, in which yes it does have to come off, as all the shafts and gears come out the side of the lift housing that is facing inside the rear end.  Not really that bad of a removal if you have a good cherry picker (or a loader is what I used, probably not the safest...).  One thing to make sure is that the PTO shaft that is inside the rear end housing just slides into a coupler at the rear.  I would take off the rear end cover plate and have someone hold that shaft back in the tractor as you pull the housing off.  If it comes out, there is a chance you can damage the seal between the compartments.  I believe a single speed PTO can be done just by unbolting the carrier housing.
