The house is! We just had a 4.8 quake at 10:30 this morning. Not sure if we're gonna get any aftershocks, but quakes usually don't happen round' here. Jo Jo said go check the furnace there's an awful lot of noise and shaken. I told her I think I better go check my undies first!  LOL!  Epacenter was about 50 miles South of us......

What happened? Did Gov Christy fall off a chair at the Waffle House? Oprah Winfrey roll out bed?
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

The epicenter was about 12 miles straight line from me.  We still haven't seen the cat since she ran and hid.  All is good but all the  pictures throughout the house will need straightening. That shake was something, but what really surprised me was the NOISE. It was so intense for the 30 seconds or so of the event that I actually ran outside to see if I could see any evidence of a plane crash!

What Hudco said.

The dairy men had a tv commercial 30 or 40 years ago about how happy the cows are out here in The Land of Fruits and Nuts.  Grazing in lush green pasture with shade trees, and all at once things are a SKAKEN. One cow turns to another "nice foot massage", the other replays "they never last long enough".

Glad there have not been any reports of injuries ............so far anyway.

Glad everyone is okay. We had one around that size 6 years ago in Va, quite scary as I was servicing phone equipment at a pharmaceutical company that has some highly explosive chemicals onsite. I stayed inside as everything was a shaking including my computer monitor. It would have been on the floor if I had not grabbed it. I was in a shelter in place building so I stayed inside until instructed to got to the parking lot after the all clear whistle went off. They sent everyone home after everyone had been accounted for so the entire plant site could be properly checked. Everyone thought for sure it was a chemical explosion. First earthquake I had ever experienced.
Again, very thankful everyone is okay.

It’s crazy when you think the ground under our feet is under constant pressure and sometimes has to move. i’m glad everyone is OK, and hopefully your cat gets over it as well.

Cap, I remember about 15 years ago, I was at a buddy of mines house in the Adirondacks. He lived in Upper Jay, NY. About 8 miles away in Ausable Forks, we got a 5.5 quake. That sounded like a Train comin' and all of a sudden the house started a shakin'. He lost part of the stone chimney on the roof, but that was the extent of the damage luckily. When that slow roar was starting to become louder and louder, I said to myself: "man Tom better look at his furnace, that thing has a problem." By that time, the house started shakin'.  LOL!

Wasn't that biotch supposed to move to Canada if Trump got elected??  Just sayin.....

We've only had a few here in WI that I can recall.  And they were REAL mild.  Not so much for earth quakes or tornadoes, but when we get em......

Glad things are OK out there....
