I have a 1900 Ford 4x4 tractor. I just drained the hydraulic fluid and cleaned the filter.
It calls for 134 universal tractor fluid. It runs in the transmission and rear differential.
Can I use universal tractor fluid from Tractor supply or such.
New Holland is $75.00 for 5 gallons and TSC has an off brand for $30.00
I need 12 gallons.

The "134" Ford fluid is much like the universal HyTran fluids that are out there. It is the recommended fluid for the SOS transmissions. The "2C53" is a heavier weight.

FWIW...I've been using the WallyWorld UTF for years in 3 D-14s.... It's a LOT closer than TSC ( which got bought out by someone....) here in Ontario

On the TSC Universal Hydraulic Fluid lists what manufacturers tractors it is compatible with. Most equipment uses the same Hydraulic fluid whether it is IH Hytran,Allis Chalmers 831 or John Deere Hy Guard. Newer equipment uses different fluid and should be checked for compatibility.

I think New Holland is intent on cleaning out your bank account. Bout did mine for 'can't find anywhere else' parts. Have a Ford 1320 4x4 all hydro and have run AW32 from Oreally and Napafor 10 years without any issues. Only other fluid is the front diff and engine.

I agree with Mark... Check the label on the TSC bucket for spec... The "very cheap" stuff will have very little specs.... You can get a "good quality" generic in the $30 - 40. range.. It should meet several different specs from JD, Allis, C4, TO2 , Case, etc.... If it meets 20 different specs, its a good quality oil.

I looked up TSC Hyrdaulic oil.. They list a "VP" and this is what is says... i would use it.
