How many of you all run seed firmers on your planters? Do you like them? Are they worth the time and money?

I have them on my Deere 7000, not sure how much good they really do. They were on there when I bought the planter.

Older IHC planters and JD vacuum they help with seed bounce, no help to white and not sure about Kinze. Problem is if you worried about seed spacing they can screw with that. Had them on JD haven't had any since been running a 8516 White.

We've run them for years. Ran them first on deere 7000 and now on Kinze 3600. Seems to help keep the seed a consistent depth.

I’m a huge believer in them. EVEN seedling EMERGENCE is the primary goal of a seed furrow firmer. Yes, they may slide a seed now & then which does antagonize seed meter & seed tube singulation efforts. Aside from a few misplaced seedlings, it’s more important to achieve EVEN SEED FURROW DEPTH that allows for the beginnings of even emergence.
