Looked at the 7040-45-60 and 8070. All very poorly maintained and looked very ROUGH. Tires all poor and mis-matched. Most look like they have never ever been in a shed. 8070 cab has been repainted and the original paint underneath (where it could be seen) was better than the cheap paint that was spray or rolled on. Transmission brake inoperative on the 7040 and 7060 and then they wonder why the transmission jumps out of reverse ??? Maybe because there aren't any teeth left on the gears !!! These four tractors I'd give a 2 or 3 rating on a 1 to 10 scale. A wasted day of traveling. A perfect example of how NOT to take care of machinery.

The 8550 was the only tractor with decent paint on it. Wasn't faded too bad. Like the Dr. said, the rest looked like they spent most of their lives outside.

Here’s Robert McCullough’s obituary. Iroquois County has unique soils. The area surrounding Watseka ranges from very productive black sands to lighter less productive sands referred to by locals as “sand blows”. Many farms seed winter wheat on these sand blow ridges to lessen their sand dune movement during winter blizzards. During hot July & August, these sand blows literally burn up. Quite challenging to say the least.
https://fordcountychronicle.com/2020/11/obituary-robert-earl-mccullough I don’t know Robert’s relationship to McCullough Implement. But I have bought many a Gleaner parts from there & always enjoyed excellent service from parts counter & shop. Here’s the dealership’s latest news. https://www.mcagplus.com/new-location.htm |

If you go to the link Charlie175 posted you can scroll down to where it says "click here for online catalog" That shows the pictures and prices of most of the stuff. Until I read Dr.Allis's post, I thought prices were awfully cheap. Those roto balers did go cheap though. Combines seemed cheap too. He had quite the large family, 13 brothers and sisters, six kids and 10 grand kids! Edited by JohnColo - 29 Dec 2020 at 9:09pm |

Wasn't thinking too good I guess I should have bought all 3 roto balers the tires and rims were worth what they brought and there were some good belts on them.
