Stopped into my local Menards to grab the GO-TO food staple-Jacks frozen pizza. Lo and behold, NO Jacks of any kind to be had CryCry, instead was a Roma brand in it's place ConfusedOuch ?? Why is it that Menards drops vendors in such short order ?? And I'm not talking just pizza, they've dumped several name brand power/air tools also fairly recently Thumbs Down .

they run specials on whatever they can get cheap and sell as a draw item or loss leader .
in the tool part it's markup of brand they can make the most on .

Checked the freezers the other day and picked up two bags of Angus meat balls. First spaghetti I've had in a long time.

They have their own brand of battery operated equip called MasterForce.. I have never bought any.. They do sell several other brands and sometimes have more selection than others... That may depend on who gave them a deal that month..  99% of the hardware and tools seems to remain the same over the years i have gone there. I use it as a lumber yard and hardware store...... I dont buy food at a lumber yard.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I wondered why the NASCAR stuff was in there. We have rebuilt 3 houses, two machine sheds, and a couple of other units. All from Menard's. We have no problems with their stuff. She buys her laundry products there. 2 sons buy their stuff there. One son in the National Guard buys at Lowes and gets his Military discount, Lowes is a few miles from his house. Can't wait until they start selling guns, pickups, and ammo .

Can’t say I have bought food at a lumber yard, ‘felt for maybe a candy bar at the checkout. Menards house brand stuff is no different than at a hardware store, you can buy name brand, or buy Ace/True Value or whatever, some house brand stuff is good some not.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

I always hear about the 'board straightener' you need when buying lumber at Menard's.

Ted buy a thin blade saw. It will leave a little extra margin on the board.

CryCry, I've spent WAY to much time sorting through lumber that makes the "local" lumberyard look CHEAP !!!
Yes, I will NEVER buy anything from HD as they are WAY too overpriced "here", And Lowe's lumber is "questionable" at best Confused

They pay me 13%, have a contractors account. Still like the lumber at the local lumber yard, but M has more variables of the the other parts needed in building
construction.

The only way they pay you back is on the next purchase. I prefer to use my military discount and see the savings on each purchase.

Have a agreement with a Local Yard, LARGE Projects where may need a half a unit of 2x somethings, they send a FULL Banded Unit, we pick the materials we want to use, restack the remaining and they take them back.  Twisted and cracked, warped or off shape and the yard takes them back resells as seconds or I can buy for basic junk purpose lumber at seconds pricing.
