I have an Ironworker that I have used to cut angle iron.  It is a Mubea BF 10.  I am needing to use the punch on it but I do not know how to align the punch and die.  I have all the books and manuals.  All it says is to install the punch and die.  I am worried about the clearance and breaking my punch.  This is a mechanical punch so I can not lower it slowly, like a hydraulic ironworker.

maybe kill the power, unplug it... then manually, slowly bring the punch down to meet the die ?
hard to explain but just move 'whatever' to slowly see if there's any clearance issues.
I'd love to have a Edwards hydraulic ironworker...better control and friend has LOTS of die/punch sets I could borrow......

The one I used way back when... install punch and die loose, slowly lower the punch into the die till it bottomed and it would self center. Then tighten all clamps.

Got it figured out.  Turn the flywheel with an allen wrench with power off and it will lower the punch holder.  Thanks for the suggestions.
