Len Schreiber "Len passed away Sunday night. There will be no funeral, just a family get Together. I have no more information." Got that email just now.
Lynn was Mooney Lynn's "double". Great friends. Lynn was a marketing manager and was in charge of most Loretta Lynn 's events. Lynn wrote the marketing specs on many AC products. Known for being 'gruff' he had a heart as big as a lion that he was. Lynn also sat up the Louisville Show for years. He was a great part of AC in the latter days.

Worked directly with Len during the 1983 Farm Progress Show. They began their work 30 days before the show date, and ended a couple of weeks after the show ended. As they were getting close to show time, his beer money fund ran out. So, being the creative guy he was, he rented out an 8050FWA with a disc chisel to a local farmer for cash. Beer fund was replenished. Lenny was a good guy and I always enjoyed talking with him.

Was always wanting to visit with him but I had heard his health was not well the past few years.

Another FPS 1983 story on Schrieber. He ordered machinery from early May thru August for this show. He asked if there was anything in particular that we wanted. I said " Yes, an 8070 2-WD Power Shift, so we can tractor pull it some thru the Summer months." When it showed up the lid got removed from the inj pump and the screw turned all the way. We pulled it at 4 or 5 events that summer. Sometimes this 8070 had 8030 hoods on it. Sometimes it was an 8050 and I know one time for sure it was an 8010. We had lots of tractors to borrow the hoods off of for a pull. Sure was great advertising for us !!.

Len was at the LL Farms introducing the 8000 s. His presentation went off script and he mentioned how wide the doors were, "look at that door - why a mother in law with a 3 foot wide load rear end could get in that cab door" he said something like that several times. We were outside the tent and noticed a lady who actually had a 3 foot rear end setting on a straw bale. We were waving our arms and slashing the neck to get him to cut out the rear end jokes. After he turned the presentation over to another he came back and growled like only Len could and said "what the heck-ll are you monkey's doing back here acting like idiots" . When we pointed our the derriere it was one of the few times he was speechless and redder faced... he just grinned and wiped the sweat and got in the jeep and left...

Ron, Yes Rich was invited to the 1983 fps. I was at the show and drove Rich Sleichter 10-18 tractor onto the display track for a 2 min. show and tell, then back to the main display area. Later Rich and I tried to convince Lenny that Allis needed to do an antique calendar like the red and green company. We told Lenny that 1984 was the 70th anniversary of the 10-18. He went to the phone and called someone (Norm Swinford?) came back to ask us how soon we could have tractors ready for pictures. That was the start of 1984 brown 70th anniversary poster calendar.
