Happy day, my son is going on medicare today, his wife has been on it for several months now. Takes a lot of pressure off for them.

Good for them! My wife got on it when her cancer got bad, she deserved it so much,, it was tough getting on it and I was the sole money maker for a while as she was sick , not sure how people make it sometimes

I kept on working to have insurance for wife - I should have applied for her to go on it when she had a heart attack but since I had good coverage at the time I justused company policy . That came back to bite us later when I was laid off and medical was $2,400 a month to cover us both . Ended up getting her insurance and I went without for almost 2 years . 
 Medicare is in many ways a life saver if and when you do qualify
