With jest me and the old gal here, it doesn't seem too important anymore. She bought this fake thing when our kids were in diapers, over 40 years ago. Oh well, I been gonna toss it out for years, might keep it around a while longer. Dang cat has been to the top of it at least twice last night, last time I caughts her and she knew I was mad at her. She Hasn't let me catch her again.

Put ours up a few days after Turkey day, don't get too excited anymore of it as we do not have kids of our own to have to the house. Are going to have extended family in at end of the week so figured would be a nice touch, even put up some exterior lights. Somehow this year got me a little more down than previous.

Don't put on up very often here either. Just the 2 of us here also. Don't really have the room. Plus with 3 beagles in the house, (2 of them are still pups) it would probably get attacked.
On the lighter side, the wife was wrapping presents the other day. She would wrap a present and set it down and one of the pups would proceed to try to unwrap it.
Looking at the past to see the future.

I put up two 6' fake ones.  They reside in the basement with the lights on them.  Bring them up, put them in place and she decorates them.  She also puts decorations all over the house and I have to put a few lites outside.  I have it all designed so it's just a matter of getting them out, might take an hour.

We have a grand daughter so it's worth it just to see her eyes!

We used to put up the biggest Frazir Fir I could stand up in the den with 8' ceiling.  We would drive all over town and lots of times even drive across the mountain  to Alamogordo as they always had some really nice trees. I would anchor it down and the wife would take 2-3 days decoratin it just so,,,,One year she wanted a flocked tree, so I think I bought every can of spray snow in town,,,,,!! Cost bout $60 if I remember right. I used to put up a beautiful Christmas Village that took up a full 4' X 8' sheet of plywood and had bout 20 houses, stores etc,,etc with flashing lights inside all the structures,,,SO beutiful,,,,,of coarse the front yard looked like thet dude's on thet movie. The main thing was a 8' tall cross with all red bulbs on top of the house that could be seen from a long ways off.  I got lots of comments on that one. Chit,,never thought to get pics cause us older fellows think that things ain't ever gonna change,,,,,,,,THEN,,,,,The chit hit the fan,,,,,,
The wife's health went south and there just ain' t very much "get up and go" , or "Want To" left in this old man as like most others here,,,all the boys gots their own families to tend to, We do get invited to go sup with one or the other but the wife just don't like to get out much anymore.
CHIT,,,think I'll go get my Joke Book and cheer myself back up,,,,,
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all my dear, dear Friends here,,,, I Love you all,ClapClap
