As I mentioned, had a very frightening could of been catastrophic event. Raising EMPTY forks near top , then the forks "fell to about a 45 degree angle" hanging off the carriage, very loud and scary! I wondered how this type of failure could possibly happen? My old mast bearings failed and the carriage moved forward due to the weight of the forks, allowing the bearing stubs to get past the stop blocks welded to the top of the mast. That began the search for the proper mast bearings, Komatso wanted nearly $1,200 for 4 bearings. Much time was spent looking as I've "crossed over" bearings like everone for years. You won't do that with "mast bearings" probably due to just the kind of failure I had, probably got a million dollar umbrella insurance policy on replacements!! I found (4) Enduro 5108BZZ1 for $327. In short I don't think the engineers could have ever envisioned the bearings being used to "both" failed at the same time. I'd urge all who have an older lift to inspect at minimum the 2 top bearings on their carriage. |
