Slightly OT: Baler Chutes

   I have often wondered why the AC balers had such long chute sections, mainly the second/back section.  It seems either the bale is coming at you throat level, or you have to really stretched out the wagon hitch to lay the chute down a little flatter.  At least this is comparing them to a JD 336 which I spent a few summers tending to the business end.

I was thinking of making a new shorter second section to more match what they had.  Does anybody have a, you know, green machine that they could measure the two chute sections on?  It would be appreciated.

	my NH second chute is a long sucker too! it's for when you pull a wagon with people stackers on behind. most hay wagons around here have long tounges, check your baler to see if you can take part of the hitch off to even everything better.

	You just pull the pin on the balers rear hitch and stretch it out. With the hitch pulled out you can drive right in behind the baler turn had right pull the pin swing the wagon hitch over and hook the empty wagon to the baler without having to jockey around the baler to get it in position. I always disliked bringing an empty to the neighbors John Deere you had to stand between the baler and wagon while he backed into it.

	Ours has a short and a long section. I think it works well. We set it about wait height so no bending down and it clears the cage on the wagon. You can try taking out the short section.
