I'm interested in this D10. Can someone tell me what series this might be? http://lakecity.craigslist.org/grd/5557281817.html I'm familiar with Bs, Cs, and CAs, but would like a D10 for my collection. Thanks.

hood and weight says series 3. Might be a put together, though, need the serial # located on the torque tube, where it meets the engine, carb side...
That battery box looks modified, from any version, too...

Looks like a series 3 to me.
Some of them had the optional high/low range 8sp. They are really nice and a handy tractor. Hopefully the fenders are there with it. The 3's also had a oval muffler you can see the oval shape in the hood. It also has the front weight on it. I would go check it out. Maybe you could add another one to the collection. I just called about the tractor. He said it had 8 speeds. No fenders though. He was telling me that someone called from Indiana and is interested in it. Glad to hear good things about it. I'm planning on heading out Saturday morning to snag it. Anybody know the weight of these beasts?

JoeO,
Thank you! Mind telling me the max width and length? Trying to determine if my trailer is big enough. I fit CAs on just fine. Thanks, Steve |

I know it will fit on a 12-14' long, with 80 inches between fenders...

Overall length is around 10 feet, roughly same as your CA and the width is about 10 inches less than your CA.
The D10 is considered a one row and the D12 is considered a two row, although I have the wheels spread on my D10 to accommodate 2 -30 inch rows, works nice for food plots, sweet corn, etc. I haul it on a 14 ft car hauler, tamden axle. Your trailer will work fine. Edited by JoeO(CMO) - 28 Apr 2016 at 9:01am |

If a CA fits on the trailer, the D10/12 will without issues, just back it on.

I just got back from looking at the D10. Tight steering. Engine ran fantastic without any smoke. Needs fenders, exhaust manifold, better paint job, front grill and emblem, the 3 point height adjusters were both bent pretty badly (so you couldn't turn them), the PTO would not stop spinning unless you held the shifter all the way back, the left brake wouldn't hold and stayed down after pushing it, the rear tires are chewed up, but held air, and it sounded crunchy-grindy in 3rd gear. High low worked fine and it stayed in all gears. I decided to pass. I know these are rarer tractors and having one close by sure is nice. That's the first L head I've seen.
Thanks to all who provided advice. Steve Edited by Hubnut - 30 Apr 2016 at 10:27am |
