I have a series III that I bought a year ago. I have been fighting a dirty fuel tank and various issues. I had the pump and injectors done. Ran fairly well. It now has a a very slight knock or pinging noise at low rpms. It is hard starting. Minimal blowby. It almost sounds like it running lean. Does anyone have any ideas before I assume the worst. Thanks for any help. Don't know were to start.

Remove the glass sediment bowl from the right side and turn on the petcock fully. There should be TWO streams of fuel gushing from the base. If not, the base needs to be removed from the tank and clean out the blockage inside the base and reinstall. Throw away the screens..not needed. Check the left side after you do the easy one.

Did you put pump back on or did a shop? Sounds like it is advanced in timing.  MACK
