Good morning.
I am new to the forum. I have a 1971? HD6G-21196. Every thing was running strong and now when I engage the Engine clutch operating lever, it will barely move or not move at all (in forward or reverse). I am not very familiar with the machine. Any ideas on what could be wrong, what I need to look for. what can be done to fix it. Any help would be great.

If I am understanding you,you have a clutch and not a power shift. If my assumption is correct you need to adjust the clutch. Those better than I at explaining can tell you how to adjust it.A operators manual would be very helpful.

I believe it would be a clutch. From research it is either a "Rockford" engine clutch or an "Auburn" engine clutch. I am not sure what the difference is or how to know which I have. I am praying that is just needs adjustment. But it is all new to me and any suggestions/recommendations/tips would be greatly appreciated. Allis_Chalmers_HD6G.jpg

it should have a oil clutch if it has a oil filter on the side of the clutch housing you might want to change it

If your HD6 have a oil cluch you could check your oil cluch level and your cluch oil filter and if  your machine have dry cluch she should need a cluch adjustement

I will check and see if it has an oil filter on the side of the clutch housing. I will keep you updated. Thank you for the quick feedback.

What is the complete serial number stamped on back of the final drive housing? 1969 serial numbers 21432 to 22271

If you engage the clutch and the engine RPM remains the same the clutch is slipping. If the RPM decreases the machine is bound up elsewhere.
You can remove the access plate and observe the drive shaft.

I think this a power shift w torque convertor. Probably low on fluid or suction filter clogged. Does it have gauges for the transmission?

Thanks for all of the help! I haven't gotten a chance to get back out to it to take a closer look. I am hoping I will get out there this weekend and let y'all know what I find.
