agco allis 918h rear lift

   Hello,
  I have an Agco Allis 918h and want to put a rear lift on it, what all parts would I need to do so? I am familiar with B series garden tractors, but did these series  use a solid rod or a cable running to the rear of the tractor? My dad has an Allis 917 and that also does not have the rear lift, only a b10 and b212 we have that aren't running have it. I liked the solid rod design so you can put down pressure on what ever you were using. I saw in another thread about putting one of the B series rototillers on a 900 series tractor and wanna do the same if so possible. We also have harrow that would easily work on the 918 if only it had the rear lift attachment on it. Thanks for any help or info!

	All Allis GT's after the B's, except the AC built homelite's and 300/400 series, had rear cable lift. There is a kit used to add this to a machine consisting of a pulley, bushings/hardware, cable with clevis ends that is used to add on the rear lift bracket. A guy can make the cable, but I would recommend the crimp style cable clamps, as I have never really seen the u-bolt type hold permanently...but they are easier to install. Here is what the early version of the kit looks like...install is pretty simple if you are comfy lying on your back, beneath the tractor. This is a picture from another project I worked on, but in it you can see the rear lift pulley (cable removed for work), circled in red. The standard mid-lift cable and pulley are opposite, circled in green. Sorry, only belly picture I have of this. Here is the cable route from inside the frame to the rear lift bracket (red circle). Any Simplicity/Allis rear lift bracket will work, but a stepped-collar bushing (red arrow) is needed on the LH side of the bracket to fit it to the drawbar assembly.

	wow thanks the clears up a lot for me! We had a 712 at one point and it had a cable but its been so long I can't remember much about it. Is there a place I could buy that kit? Mostly the pulley is what I would need, but a factory cable would be nice with the clevis on the end like that. We might have a spare lift bracket at the farm, I would have to dig around and see what we have. Is the bushing for inside the pulley?

	My buddy says if buying the lift kit,---have deep pockets!---I don't know because my 917-h has all the lift stuff on it! thanks; ac fleet

	haha yea i just found that out, found a website with parts breakdown and they wanted almost $60 just for the cable but the hardware and the pulley wasn't priced bad at all, may just by that stuff and make my own cable like talntedmrgreen stated

	a new cable from simplicity is around $36 ,I bought 2 new ones recently,pulley was around $13

	The kit pictured above was one of 4 or 5 NOS kits I came across. I listed them a month or two back for $30ea, and I had more takers than kits! I'm with you...buy the more critical OEM parts like the proper pulley, and try making a cable. I had a buddy who did OK with a B series tiller on his 716, after making his own cable. It looked a bit cobbled, and did come loose a few times, but eventually we got it so that it held.

	Well today we dug around in our parts for garden tractors and my dad dismantled a 712H a few years ago and low and behold we found the pulley and hardware and the rear lift hitch, but no cable. So all we need is a cable and should have everything according to your pictures. Also I was blessed with some attachments last night :) I have a good friend that works at a simplicity/Kubota dealer and a guy traded in these two tractors for a new Kubota compact tractor Anyways my friend told me this guy had the rototiller, snow blade, and snowplow and gave me his contact info and I got a hold of him and picked all this up for $200. I couldn't believe it, such perfect timing! The mule drive for the snow thrower is made to run off the front of the engine, so I don't know if that will work if its supposed to use an electric clutch to engage and disengage the thrower. The snow plow is in very good shape. The tiller leaks and has a good bit of use on it but looks solid. I am not sure how the pulley system works on it though to hook it up. But know I really gotta get a rear lift working on either my dads 917 or my agco 918. All this stuff I had to take over to the farm because my shed is too full to put it inside. What do you think? Now I gotta research how the tiller and snowthrower hook up and work.
