Maybe I missed a previous thread, what issue were you experiencing? Blown head gasket? I replaced some energy cells on a friend’s D19 turbo diesel a few years ago. Any of those leaking?

Previous owner let rain water get in exhaust.
Was just gonna replace 2 damaged pistons and sleeves but found 6 new pistons and sleeves.... It otta run like new now.... Injectors all pattern well... Tractor had been well maintained as engine had been overhauled in the past... As well as newer starter, generator and brand new tire.... It did have a steering issues and i belive that's why they parked it... Edited by Macon Rounds - 31 Mar 2026 at 7:22am |

That's a series IV your working on... Live hydraulics made those tractors sweet. Gotta keep them going, not many left around.

Got it running this evening.
Fired right up, didn't even caugh or snort. Tested injectors prior to installing and they all had a good pattern.... Anxious to get it out and test the gears. etc... I rebuilt the power steering control valve which i belive was the reason the quite using the tractor.... The nut came off the foward end of steering shaft.... No damage but it would not let control valve do its job.
