We had about an inch of sleet this morning and then a little freezing rain here at the house, less than that at the farm. Still have power at both, thank you,LORD! May get more freezing rain this afternoon. Prepare for the worst, pray for the best. I am in the process of changing propane providers at the house so my main source of backup heat won’t last long but the new tank should be installed by midweek.

Made it up to 13 degrees, not much wind, got the skid steer out of the 50 degree shop and pushed the 7 to 8 inches off the driveway.  The shop heat isn't running near as much today as it did yesterday with single digit temp and 15mph North wind.
Maximum use of available resources!

Guys,
Winter here in North West PA. May get some more snow but not as predicted. We got maybe 6 inches of snow today about 10 deg F. Not much wind.
These folks predicting the weather need to be transported back to winter of 77-78. That was a dandy. Never got above freezing for a month. Snow and blowing snow almost every day. Our road was finally plowed with a Cat dozer. I went out and ask if he could plow our drive. He said not really but swung in and pushed snow up past the old farm house. I think that pile of snow just melted last year!:) Dad was milking 40 head of Holsteins. The water pump froze in the barn, water pump froze in the house too.
We are plowing the drive with the D14. Today a heat houser would have been real handy!
Regards,
 Chris and Cheryl

Pretty Krazy, people here are complaining that we didn't have a ice storm. They bought extra food I guess? It's 37 and partly sunny. I ain't complaining a bit

I am not complaining one bit, I am thanking the LORD that it wasn’t as bad as predicted. We had sleet and freezing rain but no power grid damage, just scattered outages. Secondary roads are clearing now.

like Hubert said it could have been a lot worse!, we had about 3/4” of sleet, then freezing rain for about 24 hours, we moved my MIL down from her house North of us, had the diesel generator all fueled up and ready to run, very happy it wasn’t needed! Mountains just to the North all the way up to above Nashville towards Tracy Martins area got hit real hard, hope everyone that was in the path is OK!

We here, dodged a bullet as far as the freezing rain/ice was not nearly as much as forecast, temps dipped a bit more than forecast. Now the fun begins, as temp rise, we will see the conditions of infrastructure here in town. Just this morning, one block up the hill from our house, water was percolating up in the middle of the street. City crews now on location attempting repair.

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Joe, really bad here.I think worse than 94. We have power at house in town and machine shop. My brothers and sisters live in Portland near or farm growing up. Really bad ice there. Most of family without power and water. They say it could be days. Brother sent me a pick of one of my storage sheds. It is a total loss. Got a 3 foot maple thru it. Had a classmates house burn down, hard to get to and lots of ice there. Pray the weather warms and power is restored. We can shure use them! God Bless! Tracy
