Working on my D14 replacing the seal and O-ring at the rear. The pto on this tractor works as it should. Before putting the cover back on I got this bright idea to engage the pto lever to give me more clearance to remove the instrument panel.(I’m prepping it to paint). It popped the pto shaft out about 4”- 6” out the rear of the trans because dumb me forgot to put the cover back on. I pulled the lever back in the disengaged position and pushed the pto shaft back in place which was no issue. My question is have I misaligned anything in the trans? PTO still gonna work as it did before?

Just wanna say, in 13 minutes I got my answer today. Thank you Dr Allis for your quick response as I was about to panic thinking I had just totally screwed up which would have ruined my day. This forum is awesome, blessed with knowledgeable folks that have the same passion of saving these ole tractors and putting them back to work as I do. Spent the rest of the day repairing the fenders and sheetmetal. What we do to make em look nice while we farm with them lol. At least that’s what I like to do in my retirement. Thanks again Doc.
