rebuilding 175 power director and the new ramp plates are different , they have machined flat spots by the ramp that makes it thinner.    Will they work or will I have to add shims to take up the thickness difference?

Dr allis. These new plates are after market , from what I hear that’s how the new ones are , I’m told you can’t get new from agco anymore.    The old ramp plate measures .315 and the new one where it’s machined measures .295.     So in theory I should add .020 long shims in center to make up for the machined area

The main thing you must remember is that you have to have a total of .205" worth of shim thickness at each of the three stations. A brand new clutch had (for example) .080" in low and .045" in the center and .080" in high for a grand total of .205". This number gives you the proper stroke on the hand lever. It gives you the proper stroke on the internal linkages so neutral is truly neutral. It isn't just a number. It is a requirement. So, I don't know how this is going to work with those new parts that seem to be different.
