I only have 700 lbs at idle. At 1200 rpm the gauge shows 1200 lbs. At 1800 rpm its 2250. Is this low reading at lower rpm normal. Tim

If you wanna install a loader you will need to shim the pump. good AGCO dealer will walk you thru the process. I'd call 2250lb as normal.

I'd like to hear more peoples' experience with this, as my 7000 is much like this as well. It makes it a bit annoying bc not much will operate at idle. My fords all put out full pressure with a gear pump at idle. I'm thinking my pump might be a little on the worn out side, I've adjusted the relief pressure at the remote valves to 2300 psi, but I have to be close to 2000 rpms to get that. Anyone have one with a new pump or remember from when they were new? Do these pumps turn too slow at idle to be very efficient?

I haven't turned mine up yet Hurst. I thought the problem was unique to just my tractor. Tim

The pump has been rebuilt on my 7000 and still the same as yours, very low pressure and flow at low rpm.

That's the way it is. The priority valve sees to it that the power steering works good at slow speeds and as a result, the lift system isn't very good. Get over it or get a 7010 or bigger.

Did they change much between the 200 and 7000? Or do they act the same as well?

My 190XT III is the same way, to get good pressure you need to rev the engine some. My D21 II will give full hydraulic pressure at an idle. I don't remember if the 200 I ran for a farmer had good pressure at an idle or not, most of its time was spent on a feed mill and not running hydraulics. The 190 doesn't do bad once you get to around 1200-1400 rpm, but for full pressure you usually need at least 1500 rpm.

Very late XT's and 200's had the same hyd pump which are similar (but not the same) as a 7000.

I had to put a new pump on my 7000(black belly), now the power steering works better than it did for quite a while but the PTO disengages when I shift the power shift. Kind of annoying. Maybe your pump is getting tired?

Mine also disengages when I shift the powershift sometimes, but I'm not sure my pump isn't a little tired. I think the spring in the spool can be cut down a little to help with that problem, but haven't tried it yet.

Some black belly 7000's had an occasional issue with the PTO lever jump-out and there may have been an orifice fix for it. I cut off the spring if I remember right....didn't have only 1 or 2 of those models to contend with.

Thank you guys for the information. I was talking to a guy at the GOTO today. Who mentioned I could swap the relief valve from the traction booster, just to make sure the lift valve wasn't sticking. Tim

The draft control outlet line can be tee'd into the flow to the remote/3 point - draft will now not work well but.... Adds about 3 gpm to the flow.
