Can get either the '303' or universal 'hy-tran' fluid at the store. Both say they meet A-C specs. Which is better suited for a D15, D17 Series IV, or 175? Thanks.

Look at the container. It should give you the list of all manufacturers assorted requirements for that manufacturer. If is says it meets the requirements for Allis Chalmers Power Fluid 821 XL, that is what you want.

Hy-tran has a longer life and doesn't break down as fast as 303. 303 should be changed more often than hy-tran in tractors. I use the hy-tran in my d17 iv, I was told 303 is for things like log splitters and small equipment with systems that don't create a lot of heat.
