I have a 62 Allis-chalmers D19 with hydraulic troubles. The snap-coupler lift arms will lift, but will not hold pressure. If you engage the draft control bypassing the lift handle will the arms come up like on the D15, and early D17's? How does the height control cable work as well? When the arms get to the max position do they trip the cable, which trips a valve on hydraulic pump, and dumps everything back in the tank? I'm sorry I got so many questions I need to be put in the right direction.

If lift arms do not hold, there is a two way check valve between the two sections of the lift valve that is not holding. MACK

Thanks Mack. I'm going to order a service and parts manual tomorrow. Mack I know when you pressurize the traction booster the lift arms normally lift like they do on my D15, but they do not when I pressurize the booster on the D19. Could that two way valve be screwing with the booster also, or is the booster shot? When I move the traction booster up about halfway on the quadrant I can hear the pump change its tone, but nothing happens on the lift arms.

Sounds more like linkage adjustment. Adjust bent linkage under pump until you feel spring pressure on lever the last two notches from top. MACK

Mack when I engage the traction booster shouldn't the lift arms lift up?
