All the drills shared the same design and working parts. So the 9x7 ran and worked just like the 24x7. The All-Crop Drills are still a good tool for planting crops today. One can set the proper population and plant side by side with the newer drills of today.
Allis did not have model numbers or serial numbers for the drills. They just simply ordered them by the number of rows and spacing between rows. So a 15x7 would be a 15 row drill with the rows spaced 7" apart. Allis started making the All-Crop Drill in the early 1950's. The 9x7 was for the "CA" and the 11x7 for the "WD". In 1957 Allis added the 15x7, 18x7 and 24x7. In 1959 the following models were available: 9x7 mounted and pull type 11x7 mounted and pull type 13x7 pull type 15x7 pull type 16x10 pull type 18x7 pull type 24x7 pull type Edited by DennisA (IL) - 07 Jun 2017 at 10:32pm |
