Of course as soon as I find a job for the 190xt it starts puking oil out the steering column. I suppose the cab has to come off to get to it...anyone know if it is the same as the other 100 series tractors, I have a few laying around here.

Can't tell you if the cab has to come off.  It might have to, mine was a bear to take off since the tilt steering shaft was rusted in place.  Fortunately mine was open station.  Comparing the steering motor to a 175?  They are different.  There are only a couple of seals in them, so they are easy to change when you get the motor off.  However, if it is puking oil like you state, I would have a good look at all the hydraulic lines and fittings first.

It was definitely puking more than my 175 when it went...left a nice trail on the ground when I went to park it.

been awhile since I seen a picture of your 190,,I'd think you could get the wedge shaped cover off above the instrument panel and take a look. if its really lot of oil, sounds like a hose gave up..of course the hoses are on the bottom of the orbit motor IIRC...a side panel may hafta come off,I don't remember...
I put a o-ring and packing seal in the steering motor on my 190 years ago, and more recently on the 7060,,, wasn't a real big job on either one,,,the leak just makes a really big mess.....
