Hi guys, due to the search not working I'll just ask. The pilot bearing went out on my 65 D17 series IV. Any special tricks to splitting a Series IV or just straight forward? Also what's is everyone's opinion on a replacement clutch brand/kit?
Thanks. |

Very straight forward. Replace the throwout bearing at the same time. I also like to replace the seal on the input shaft of the torque tube while I am in there.

Straight splitting, I was told the series 4 has a different clutch than earlier 17's. someone else post back on this, I just heard this and am not 100% sure.

They have a clutch that has two surfaces to it. One where pressure plate bolts to and then one where clutch surface is. Both surfaces MUST have the same amount removed for the clutch work correctly.
